I don’t have very many regrets in life. Of course there are things I would do differently if given the chance but I don’t really regret the choices I have made. Sometimes I wish we had never moved to the area we lived in for a few years, but then I remember that we would have never been able to have Peanut without the help of the infertility specialists available in the area we lived in.

But, if I were to pick one thing I do regret it would be not going on to get my graduate degree after finishing my bachelor’s degree. I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education but without my master’s degree there isn’t much I can do. So many states require you have a master’s degree before you can even teach.

Several years after finishing my bachelor’s degree I went back to school to start working on my master’s. That was during the time when I was having a hard time getting pregnant. And when I did get pregnant it would end in miscarriage. So I stopped going to school. Temporarily of course.

I still haven’t gone back, thinking of doing it online, maybe earn a degree online would be a great idea for me. I would be able to work and earn a degree.

After high school I worked full time for one year before going to college. Even though I had wanted to be a teacher my whole life I felt like I needed a year off to think it through. Then I went to college to become an elementary education teacher. When I finished college I got married and worked at a copy store. Then I worked for a phone company and later worked as the director of a child care center.

We moved a little while later and I finally found a job as a pre-kindergarten teacher. I decided to go back to school to work on my Master’s Degree. I finished five classes. Then I got pregnant and decided to wait before finishing. Well, that was more than 3 years ago and I still haven’t gone back. I really would like to be able to finish my degree online.

I was looking at online MS Instruction at Saint Xavier University today and checking out the programs. This would really work well for me. I work from home and am a stay at home mom. It would be so much easier for me to do my work online than to have to arrange care for my daughter while I go back to school.

What about you? If you need to finish your degree- what do you think about doing it online? What are some pros and cons?
