In a previous post I talked about what you need to do as you make your plans to travel overseas. Once you have all of that important information taken care of, you will certainly be wondering what you should pack.
It is very important that you remember to pack your medications. Not only your prescription medication but over the counter medicines that you use as well- such as pain relief or antacids and acne products. If you are one of the unfortunate ones who gets motion sickness, be sure you have motion sickness relief medications. Make sure you also bring your daily essentials such as shampoo, toothpaste, sunscreen, etc.
Be sure to check with your airline about the luggage rules. Most will charge you for your luggage. The ones who do not charge you for your first piece of luggage will be checking the weight to make sure it is within the limits and if not you’ll pay quite a bit more.
I received a new laptop for Christmas last year. Even though it is a brand new laptop it likes to give me trouble. Right now, for some unknown reason- I can not install the latest version of Adobe. Every time I try the install fails. And another problem- I can suddenly not print from my laptop. I was able to plug in and print whatever I wanted and then one day it stopped working. Usually my husband fixes these issues for me, but even he can’t figure out what’s going on. I know it’s not like I have to deal with mesothelioma or something serious like that, but it’s still pretty annoying.
With the rising costs of gas many families are choosing to have a staycation rather than a vacation. About half of the travelers in the US are changing their usual plans because gas is just too expensive to take their regular trip. So if you’re planning to stay home to save on some gas money here are a few things you can do.
- Forget the chores- you’re on vacation- no laundry, dusting, making the beds or cleaning the house just because you’re at home.
- Stay up late and sleep in late- remember you’re on vacation.
- Go out to eat- don’t do all the cooking just because you’re home.
- Chances are you have some tourist attractions in your home town or within a couple of hours that you’ve never seen before- go check them out.
- Go camping in your back yard- the kids will love it.
- Watch a movie in your back yard- I remember doing this when I was a kid and it was always a lot of fun.
Be careful that you don’t go overboard and end up making a big purchase because you saved so much money on gas- it will defeat the purpose. Or if you still want to get away- why not check out Outer Banks rentals!
