Since I have had bronchitis for several weeks now I thought I would share some of the things I have been told to do to help clear it up.

  • Drink lots of fluids- water, Gatorade, etc.
  • Sit in the steamy bathroom- I use this as an excuse to take long, hot showers.
  • Get as much rest as possible (although this can be pretty hard to do when you’re constantly coughing.)
  • Use a cool mist humidifier.
  • Use Tylenol or Motrin for the fever and achy feeling.
  • See your doctor!

How do you keep in touch with your friends and family?  If you had asked me that 15 years ago my answer would be very different than it is today.  15 years ago I would have told you through letters and phone calls.  Today?  I can’t remember the last time I wrote a letter.  And the only phone calls I make are to my mom or for doctor’s appointments.  Everyone else- I keep in touch with through email and IM.

Before I was a mom I actually used IM quite a bit.  Now it’s not quite so easy to do anymore.  But I do try to use IM from time to time.  When my family was trying to plan a group vacation we used IM a lot- it was an easy way for us to all talk to each other.

One of the fun things about IM is using things like Emoticons & Winks from SweetIM.  Then you can use fun icons for your IM services such as msn, yahoo, AIM and ICQ.  You can trust that it is safe to download because it is certified by TRUSTe.org as Trusted Download Product.  I tried it out and now I can use fun icons in my IM and on my blog too!  Here’s what I feel like doing right now:      I’m stressed and worried right now and a good cry might help me feel better!

And with Valentine’s Day coming soon- this one seems appropriate too!

Anyhoo- I’m having tons of fun playing with these smileys and winks!  So download your own and start having fun too!

So you’re married to the love of your life.  You have three beautiful children together and you’re living a great life.  Then your spouse gets sick and needs a kidney.  Good news- you’re a match- you can give your spouse your kidney.  You do, of course.

Four years later you get divorced.

What would you do?

Obviously you can’t have your kidney back.

The doctor this happened to in NY is suing his ex-wife for 1.5 million dollars to compensate him for his kidney.  The whole story is here.

And that- is your weird news story for today!

Back before I had issues with anxiety I drank a lot of coffee.  But one of the things I am trying to do to help my anxiety issues is to cut back on things that make me anxious- and coffee happened to be one of them.  I used to have several cups of coffee each day.  And actually when I was working I used to also have a frappuccino or espresso or something like that as well.  I would have loved to have had a capresso to make myself some of the yummy drinks I enjoyed.  My husband still enjoys coffee so having a neat coffee maker could be a lot of fun to try out.
