I’m starting to feel a little better. I might be back with some more tips and tricks soon. For now I’m looking forward to enjoying New Years Eve and day while I feel a little bit better. I’m certainly hoping to continue to feel better over the next few days.
…but when I was in high school I helped out as a math tutor. Now it wasn’t an official job. Just a thing where I was available to help out in an empty classroom during a free period. Other students could come in and get help with their math. I always loved math and thought of it as fun and looked forward to doing my homework. Weird? I don’t know.
Anyhoo- Club Z! Tutoring services has special help available to those who need some tutoring in their math classes. Check them out if this is something you need. Maybe you’ll find your child can love math too.
So I went to a walk in clinic this morning. I just could not stand feeling like this anymore. And my doctor couldn’t see me until Friday and I knew I could not wait anymore. The diagnosis was bronchitis. Now I have had bronchitis before but I have never been this sick. I wasn’t getting enough oxygen in my blood so they did a breathing treatment right there in the office. Afterwards it was a better- not at 100%, but at 96%- which is acceptable. So the doctor put me on an inhaler and a nice strong prescription because I have an infection. Now I’m just waiting to feel better.
Have you spent too much money this Christmas season? Our economy isn’t doing very well but I still see lots of people out spending lots of money. I know we cut back on how much we usually spend for Christmas this year in order to keep ourselves from going into debt. We didn’t want our kids to miss out so we just cut back on what we get for each other. But I see so many others who have been spending just like they usually do.
Are you one of those people? If you are, then an IVA might be something you would want to look into. IVA stands for Individual Voluntary Arrangements. Which basically means you can work with a company like Clear Debt to figure out what will work best for you on an individual basis. They can usually help you cut your debt (often by more than half), freeze the interest you are paying, stop the creditors who have an action against you, and even get free debt advice.
So if you found that you have spent too much money this holiday season- or just spent too much money in general- don’t give up. There is help out there for you with a company like Clear Debt.
What can I say other than WOW! It has been a long time since I have written. It’s funny too- because one of my last posts was about staying healthy this winter. And the reason I haven’t posted- I have been so sick that I haven’t been posting at all. I’m not sure if I have the flu or what- but I can tell you that I don’t think I’ve ever been this sick in my life. I am soooo careful about hand-washing and not touching things in stores in case they have germs that it just doesn’t make sense that I am so sick. The only thing I can think of is that we went to eat breakfast at a buffet. So, I’m assuming some sick person must have sneezed in the food or touched the silverware- something like that. Either way- I have been sick for a week and I am so exhausted. The thing that upsets me the most is that I have been looking forward to Christmas for months- kind of like it’s the only thing that has kept me going. And now I have been so sick I can’t wrap presents or do any baking. And I just want to feel better.
Going away to college is an exciting time in the life of the student. Probably pretty sad in the life of the parent as they send their child off to school, but exciting also to get to watch your child head out into the real world. One of the main things to consider when your child goes to college is where to live. Should your child live on the campus in the dorms or in student housing? There are student accommodation leeds , UK- through Pickard Properties which was recently voted the number one landlord in Leeds, UK.
While it will most likely be difficult to leave your child at college- trust yourself that you did the best you could do raising your child. He or she will probably make some mistakes (just like you did) and learn from those mistakes and go on to live a great life.
Winter is here (well, not officially for a few more days, but it will be here soon) and so is the season of colds and the flu. We all want to stay healthy and avoid getting these germs- so here are a few tips to keep you healthy!
- Eat right- eat your fruits and veggies. Eating cookies and chips is bad for your body.
- Get enough sleep. Your body can’t fight germs off as well if you are exhausted.
- Wash your hands. I tend to be a little obsessive about hand washing- but do it all of the time. Carry hand sanitizer with you and keep your hands clean.
- Get your flu shot. Getting a flu shot does not make you sick. You may have a few mild symptoms but it will be nothing compared to the actual flu.
- Avoid people who are sick.
Do you know what I could really use right now? A vacation! I am stressed to the max and it just keeps on piling up. So I was checking out some nice fun activities to do in Hilton Head South Carolina. One of the things I love to do while I’m on vacation is going out to eat. I love eating out because cooking every day at home can get pretty boring and also takes a lot of time and effort. So, when we go away I always look forward to finding some fabulous places to eat. The great news about going to Hilton Head is that I can relax all day on the beach and then eat at some fabulous restaurants in the evening! Perfect vacation, in my opinion.
I like the idea of naming your child something a little bit different. But not too different so that the child gets picked on or teased in school. When I was teaching in an inner city school the kids had very different names. And sometimes the parents would spell the names so differently that if you sounded it out the name would not be pronounced the way the parent wanted it pronounced. That just doesn’t make any sense to me. Children should have names that are easy for them to learn and spell.
I was reading some “news” today about the names that celebrities give to their children and I think some of the names are simply ridiculous. Check out the story here.
There are so many differnet ideas out there for Christmas gifts. From big things to little things. It always amazes me how advertisers try to make us think that people spend a lot more money than they really do.
Why would someone list a Wii game as a stocking stuffer? If I pay $50-$60 for a game it is going to be a regular old present. Just because something is small doesn’t make it a stocking stuffer. I mean diamond rings are small, but no one would ever call that a stocking stuffer.
Guess I’m just grumpy tonight.
